 FIRST: Meeting Information      

The first general meeting has passed.

The next general meeting will presume the second week of September.

Meetings from now on will only be Friday, 5:00pm at the Beale Library.

We have a recreational meeting on August 25th. Please select from the locations available.

Please make it a point to attend. I would really appreciate the participation.


SECOND: Registration 

If you have not registered as a member please do so immediately.

Resources are becoming available and you are at risk of being left out.

THIRD: Upcoming Events  
    

The last event with Chevron Black Employee Network was the family skate night.

We will also be setting up our next engagement with the Chevron BEN and another Chevron organization as well.

Details about the event will be listed in the Event Calendar, so be sure to check it regularly.

FOURTH: Leadership Positions      

Leadership positions are available within our Executive Board.

If you are interested please get in contact with me and allow me to nominate a position for you based on your current skill set and you academic or professional goals. We would greatly appreciate the assistance in ensuring that this year is efficient, inspiring and exciting.

Put forth the effort to your future and your betterment.

FIFTH: Communication
At the moment I am having difficulties with my phone and as a result I may be difficult to get into contact with. Rest assured I am still readily available via email and I will be certain to send out a notification when my phone situation is resolved. In the meantime please continue to uphold a strong channel of communication with me!

SEVENTH: Resource Bank & Scholarships

The Resource Bank Request center is open!

If you would like to request resources for the upcoming fall or spring please visit go to membership, membership benefits, resource bank and fill in the criteria for requesting resources.

NSBE Fall Scholarships are available!


EIGHTH: Bakersfield College Events (Not exclusive to BC Students)

Two Bakersfield College (all encouraged to attend) activities that are coming up include:

AAMMP (African American Male Mentoring Project) Workshops.

There are many professional development and cultural awareness workshops that will be available throughout the year and I encourage all of you to attend when feasible.

Bakersfield College Welcome Week

We am currently looking for volunteers for Bakersfield College Welcome Week which will span from August 20th and August 21st, the entire first week of class at BC.

Some of you we expect to volunteer and others we hope you set aside time in your personal schedules to volunteer you time. If you would like to volunteer please let me know what time you would be available to volunteer and we can give you more details about what you will be doing.
