First: Fundraising
- The first fundraising event will be the Tahoe Joe's fundraiser, which will in return help us raise money towards our national conference this spring in Indianapolis.
- In order to raise the money each member will be selling tickets and we have 30 days to sell as many as possible. The more someone sells the more they will have towards the conference.
- Where is the event: Tahoe Joe's Famous Steakhouse 9000 Ming Avenue, Bakersfield, California, 93311 (Located in the Marketplace on Ming).
Second: Walk for education event
- Who: UCR and Pamona.
- What: A Walk For Education When: October 20th Setup time 8am, Event time 10am-4pm.
- Where: San Bernardino High School.
- Why: AWFE goal is to increase awareness of opportunities available in college among black communities. We will be walking door to door in the community to give out information about higher education.
Third: Pumpkin carving event
- We are looking for pumpkin donating for our pumpkin carving event.
- Where: Bakersfield Homeless Shelter.
- Times: Set-up at 1, and event start from 2-5.
Fourth: Volunteering
- The opportunities to volunteer at the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter for Saturday and Sunday are still up from 9:00AM - 5:00PM.
- You do not have to stay the entire time, and any help is always great.
Fifth: NSBE Bakersfield Facebook Group
- Keep an eye out for the NSBE Bakersfield facebook group I will be making.
Sixth: Study Hall Information
- Please contact the Academic Excellence Chair Joule Thomas for any and all study hall information.
Seventh: Meeting reminder
- Our next executive meeting will be Friday October 19th, at the Beale Library at 4:00 PM.
